ITALIAN BOOKS I
Our newest publishing initiative, Italian Books is a series of numbered catalogues devoted to the importance of Italian culture on the world stage. The catalogues will feature manuscripts, documents, printed books, engravings, drawings, and artist’s books produced in Italy, as well as Italian books printed abroad. The project will first foresee the publication of two numbered catalogues per year (Spring and Fall), each presenting about forty or fifty items specifically selected for their rarity, documentary value, illustrative apparatus, provenance, binding and material make-up.
In addition to these catalogues, in this special section on our website devoted to Italian books, we will offer the possibility not only to browse or download all serially published catalogues, but also to navigate through manuscripts, printed books, engravings and drawings included in our selections, and thus to carry out advanced searches on dates of publication, names of publishers, artists and illustrators, or former provenances. We also anticipate the creation of virtual exhibitions dedicated to authors, printers, bookbinders, artists, owners, or subject matters, and tracing fascinating itineraries through the history of book, arts and collecting. Finally, special attention will be paid to historical and bibliographical research, with our specialists offering in-depth cataloguing, research, and consultation services.
